&body=It is said that a church is built with spirit, not with concrete; nevertheless, it was a particularly rewarding challenge to convert a utilitarian, industrial warehouse into an inviting church for the John Wesley Parish. Though the renovation appears drastic, the project was deceptively simple—and budget-conscious. We added a broad entry at the front, raised the roof and ceiling over the sanctuary, and erected a corner bell tower. We incorporated elements of the traditional Samoan meeting hall in the open entryway and in the window shapes. Exterior finishes and trim were layered to add scale and detail, and to complete this miraculous transformation.&
