At Brickyard Cove in Point Richmond a contemporary, 3,700-square foot waterfront residence has been built on such a location. Situated out over the water, it is supported by concrete piles sunk into the San Francisco Bay. The home centers on a two-and-a-half story atrium, and the stepped plan provides light and views from two sides of all the major rooms. The plan allows free access both to a large deck on the water side of the house and a private patio on the street side. Low maintenance exterior materials reflect the organization of the building's forms.&
