&body=The primary goal of this kitchen remodel was to bring a lovely garden into the room. Windows are placed to provide optimal garden views. The built-in bench at the breakfast table looks down into the rear yard, while the corner window opens onto a rose-covered trellis. The large casement window at the sink has no sill, making it easy to see down into the side yard, and the counter top flows into a small window bay to create a sunny space for the owner's much loved orchids. Inspiration for the detailing in the room was taken from elements found elsewhere in this 1923 house, though the materials, appliances, and lighting scheme are all very contemporary.&
