&body=What were the dining room and breakfast area had been porches before we took on this extreme kitchen makeover. Moreover, the rooms had two different floor levels and three different ceiling heights. We made the cooking area and breakfast nook into a single room, keeping it open and full of light. A new interior window between the dining room and kitchen enhances the feeling of spaciousness while allowing the back of the kitchen to borrow light from the dining room. Open shelving around both the breakfast table and in the kitchen island holds the owner's collections of ceramic art and well-worn cookbooks.&
