&body=We expanded and remodeled this 1940s ranch house while adding a touch of elegance. Our plan placed private rooms upstairs and interconnected the public rooms downstairs for a more modern and very livable home. The living room, dining room, kitchen and breakfast areas—all on the first floor—flow into one another with very few intervening walls, creating luxuriously long sight lines and excellent circulation patterns for air, heating and light. The brand new second story includes a master bedroom suite, an exercise room, and a reading porch. Wood shingles help settle the home into its country setting.&
